At Healios I worked on an app that helps treat multiple sclerosis, dreaMS. Basically, the app is a collection of smaller games like running and walking challenges, math puzzles and vision games. Below are some of my accomplishments on dreaMS.

I implemented UI components like a ring countdown timer that shows the user the time remaining when they play a running or walking game.

I fixed bugs in the app. For example, there was a game where a user was supposed to identify if a new shape that appeared in a list was the same as the shape that came before, the recycler view would auto-scroll after the user answered. But drawing the next shape was slightly slow, so I put a delay on the auto scroll and the desired behaviour was achieved.

I added lottie animations on multiple screens of the app, these animations were supposed to act as visual guides for the user as they used the app.

While at Fairventures I worked on an app called Treeo. Treeo is an environmentalist app that provides useful information to farmers about what effect they are having on the environment especially by planting trees. The app calculates the amount of carbon each farmer takes out of the atmosphere by planting trees (This is accomplished through an ML algorithm integrated into the app via a JNI interface). The app also provides farmers with useful learning information on tree raring in form of video and audio learning courses.

I worked at Andela Uganda, a tech talent out-sourcing firm based out of Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria. I worked there for nearly two years.

I contributed to a web app called Author's Haven(Javascript/React) which is a blog application for bloggers and authors. I contributed to a meeting space management app called Converge(Android/Kotlin).

I onboarded multiple new hires to multiple teams. I also led multiple teams as a technical team lead. To shed more light on that, at Andela new hires would be required to deliver a product in a period of four months, they would be assigned to teams and each team would be assigned a Tech-Lead, the tech lead's role was to guide the developers through their project by advising on how to deliver features, reviewing code, enforcing clean code guidelines, enforcing good project architecture and unblocking developers/offering assistance to developers that needed it. The technologies I used or worked with during this period include python, Django, flask and javascript.

Right after school, I worked as a freelance mobile developer especially on android I contributed to a mobile app called Alternate route an application which users could use to find alternate routes in case the road they were using suddenly had a heavy traffic jam. I built a movie ticket app from scratch called Onesheet, I shopped it around cinemas in Uganda even though it was not picked up I am still proud of it.
