In this role, you will ensure the daily care of laboratory animals (rodents) during ongoing experiments, maintaining optimal housing conditions and closely monitoring their wellbeing. The position requires 4 to 6 hours of work each weekend, with the possibility of extending to an additional 4 hours on weekdays during certain weeks of the year.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and drinking water to the animals.
• Clean and maintain animal enclosures.
• Conduct welfare checks and report any abnormalities.
• Administer medication according to protocol when required.

About The Department

You will be part of the CBRN Protection department, focusing on the toxicology of chemical substances and evaluating potential new medical countermeasures. Our main client is the Dutch Ministry of Defence, alongside various government organizations, European consortia, and industrial partners. We have access to advanced facilities, including specialized laboratories and animal research facilities.

The department comprises around 50 professionals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You Also Bring

• A recognized qualification in Animal Care (at least MBO level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in handling laboratory animals and performing related procedures.
• A Laboratory Animal Science certificate (Article 13f.2).
• A careful and professional working style focused on quality and animal welfare.
