Are you an experienced Project Manager and animal lover looking to make a real difference? Animal Heroes is one of Europe's fastest-growing emergency aid organisations for animals. We collaborate with local rescuers to provide urgent assistance to animals in crisis areas globally. Since our inception three years ago, we have initiated 45 emergency aid projects across 12 countries and operate veterinary clinics in Gaza and the West Bank, delivering free, life-saving care to animals in need.

The Role

As we continue to expand, we are seeking two experienced Project Managers to oversee our international emergency aid projects. Each Project Manager will manage their own portfolio, taking responsibility from initial assessment and setup through to monitoring, reporting, and closure. You will collaborate closely with another Project Manager, ensuring support and backup when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assess new support requests with the Board, coordinate due diligence, and prepare necessary information for approval.
• Set up approved projects, ensuring all documentation is complete and deadlines are recorded.
• Collect and organize information, photos, and videos for project launches.
• Create and publish project pages on the Animal Heroes website using established templates.
• Coordinate project launches with Social Media, Donor Communications, and Media teams.
• Maintain regular contact with local Animal Heroes and monitor project progress.
• Keep project information and documentation accurate and up to date.
• Monitor actions, deadlines, funding, and reporting requirements, collaborating with Finance as needed.
• Identify issues, delays, or risks, taking action or escalating to the Board when necessary.
• Keep the Board and relevant teams informed of important project developments.
• Ensure proper reporting and closure of projects, providing necessary information for annual reporting.

This role combines project coordination with hands-on execution, allowing you to take ownership of your projects from start to finish while collaborating with the Board and specialist teams.

Who are you?

You are someone who enjoys getting things done. Organized, proactive, and comfortable with responsibility, you:

• Are an animal lover and can commit approximately 6-8 hours per week, flexibly across several days.
• Have at least 3 years of professional experience in project management or a similar role, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Enjoy working directly with people and building relationships.
• Are proactive in seeking information and moving projects forward.
• Work accurately and understand the importance of due diligence and accountability.
• Are comfortable using digital tools like Asana and Google Drive.
• Have an excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.
• Are comfortable working with individuals from diverse countries and cultures.
• Experience in an NGO, international aid, or animal welfare is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong interest in AI, automation, and improving digital workflows is a plus.
