In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting VAT and related filings accurately and on time for EMEA and APAC. While most returns are prepared in-house, you'll liaise with external advisors in certain territories for submissions and reconciliations. You will secure timely VAT payments, follow up on VAT refunds, and manage cash flow effectively. Additionally, you will perform VAT balance reconciliations and analysis, and prepare responses to VAT inquiries and tax/revenue audits, often independently. Ensuring compliance with SOX demands is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT and related filings for EMEA and APAC regions.
• Liaise with external advisors for submissions and reconciliations in specific territories.
• Manage VAT payments and refunds, ensuring timely cash flow.
• Conduct VAT balance reconciliations and analyses.
• Respond to VAT inquiries and audits accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
• Understand IT systems related to VAT and flag issues.
• Support Alteryx implementation and improve VAT technology tools and practices.
• Provide moderate complexity tax advice and recommend actions aligned with business plans.
• Monitor VAT regulations impacting the company.
• Document processes, maintain instructions, and create training materials.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders for training and project activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Tax Law or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a VAT role within a large multinational company.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
• Knowledge of IT/VAT automation is preferred and should be developed in this role.
