Het traineeship

During the 2-year traineeship, you will work in a role that allows you to grow into a professional from day one. You will spend four days a week in your position, with Fridays dedicated to training, intervision, and workshops.

In a collaborative learning program, you will work with fellow trainees on assignments for the organization. Additionally, you will set learning objectives with your personal coach, receiving tailored training.

After two years, you will have gained work experience, developed personally, built a broad network, and established a solid foundation for your career.

Wat ga je doen?

You will work in the Ruimte department within the Ruimtelijk Beleid team, starting as a Trainee Policy Officer Environmental Planning. You will directly or indirectly address relevant societal challenges that impact the living environment of our residents. You will gain insights into the governance and political context of municipal work and learn how policies are developed within a dynamic environment.

You will contribute to various themes such as housing, spatial planning, economic affairs, heritage and archaeology, sustainability, environment, waste, and mobility. You will collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, residents, entrepreneurs, and other partners to create integrated solutions for Gemeente Medemblik. The focus of this traineeship is on the environmental plan, where you will learn how policies, spatial developments, and legislation converge into a sustainable plan for Gemeente Medemblik.

Responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the development, updating, and implementation of the environmental plan for Gemeente Medemblik.
• Preparing spatial advice and supporting procedures within the spatial domain.
• Developing and updating policies across various areas of the Ruimte department while ensuring coherence between these policy areas.
• Monitoring societal, political, and spatial developments and learning to translate these into policies, projects, and concrete advice for the organization and municipal governance.
• Advising colleagues, management, and governance on issues and developments affecting the physical living environment.

Together with your fellow trainees, you will embark on an exciting journey of discovery, development, and work.

Wat verwachten wij van jou?

You are open to personal and professional development and willing to critically assess your own growth.

Additionally:

• A completed HBO or WO degree in planning or law.
• A maximum of 2.5 years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license or alternative means to easily reach the municipal office in Wognum.
• To maximize your development, you will spend most of your time in the office in Wognum.
• Strong communication skills.
• While you will receive ample guidance and support, you are also expected to work independently.

Wij bieden je het volgende:

Your starting salary is based on scale 9, amounting to €3,625.00 gross per month for a 36-hour work week. Your salary will grow with your development, with a periodic increase after 9 months if all goes well. After the first increase, your salary will be €3,766.00 gross per month.
