The Role

Reporting to the Head of Trade & Structured Finance, you will be instrumental in establishing ABB Robotics' global Trade Finance function. Your responsibilities will include managing a diverse range of trade finance activities, particularly bank guarantees, while collaborating with Sales, Finance, Legal, Treasury, and banking partners globally. You will also contribute to the development of global processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency in trade finance operations, while driving automation and digitalization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, bonds, and other trade finance instruments across ABB Robotics’ global entities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Key Account Management, Finance, Legal, and business teams to understand their needs and provide practical trade finance guidance.
• Coordinate with banks and financial institutions regarding guarantee issuance, documentation, limits, and daily transactions across multiple countries.
• Monitor the guarantee portfolio, facilities, expiries, utilization, and fees, maintaining accurate records and providing relevant reporting and KPIs.
• Assist in structured and working-capital finance solutions, including receivables factoring, supply-chain/payables finance, and leasing structures.
• Contribute to the development of standardized processes, controls, and systems while promoting automation and continuous improvement in global trade finance operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Treasury, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in Trade Finance, Treasury Operations, Banking, or Corporate Finance, with a proven track record in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of bank guarantees, bonds, letters of credit, and international trade finance practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders in an international context.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a keen interest in automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
