Job Purpose and Impact

The Technical Lead for Corporate Risk Reporting (CRR) serves as the primary technical owner for the CRR platform, responsible for the complete design, development, and technical integrity of the solution. This role ensures the coherent, scalable, and correct implementation of risk logic, data ingestion, and user-facing reporting and analytics across the entire technology stack. You will lead the technical interpretation and implementation of trading risk logic, focusing on SQL-based risk calculations and data layers. Additionally, you will coordinate development across SQL, data ingestion, and frontend/backend streams to ensure accurate, performant outputs for positions, exposures, pricing, and P&L.

Key Accountabilities

• End-to-end technical ownership: Act as the sole technical owner for the CRR platform, ensuring coherence, correctness, performance, and scalability across all development streams.
• SQL risk logic leadership: Lead the design and implementation of SQL-based risk logic, overseeing complex transformations and performance tuning.
• Cross-stream technical leadership: Provide technical guidance across SQL developers, data engineers, and full-stack engineers, ensuring alignment in ingestion, data layers, APIs, and user interfaces.
• Risk data correctness and integrity: Guarantee consistency and accuracy of positions, exposures, pricing, and P&L outputs for end-of-day and reporting use cases.
• Architecture and design stewardship: Review and guide architectural decisions across database, data ingestion pipelines, OpenSearch, and .NET/React-based UI and API layers.
• Business and domain partnership: Collaborate with the Senior Business Analyst and Domain Modeler to translate business requirements into actionable technical designs, offering feasibility assessments and technical guidance.
• Technical risk and debt management: Identify and manage technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt to ensure platform stability and long-term maintainability.
• Delivery and production readiness: Support release planning, cutovers, and production readiness, ensuring data availability, performance validation, and operational stability.
• Engineering standards and quality: Define and enforce standards for SQL development, data quality, lineage, DevOps practices, and design patterns across the CRR engineering team.
• Mentorship and capability uplift: Mentor engineers across streams and contribute to enhancing overall engineering quality, consistency, and technical maturity within the CRR team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 10–15+ years in engineering roles focused on data-intensive or analytics-driven platforms.
• Proven experience in owning end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream engineering solutions, with significant hands-on responsibility in SQL development.
• Strong background in delivering trading or risk platforms, preferably within commodities or capital markets.
• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical contributions with architectural leadership and cross-team influence. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
