At LOLA Landscape Architects, we are immediately seeking a Technical (Landscape) Designer who, with technical insight and an inquisitive mind, elevates our designs to a higher level – from Final Design through to realization.

LOLA is a leading landscape architecture firm with offices in Rotterdam and Shenzhen. Since our founding in 2006, LOLA has grown into an international team of approximately 40 young, ambitious designers and architects for whom creativity and quality come first. We have built a portfolio of national and international projects, publications, and awards. Currently, we are working on, among others, the car-free Merwede district in Utrecht, the Spoorzone in Zwolle, the garden of the World Museum in Leiden, and international projects such as the Trinity School Campus in Cyprus, Maxovka Park in Prague, and Haitang River Park in Sanya.

De rol

As a technical landscape designer, you work on the detailing and realization of landscape designs and outdoor spaces during various planning phases. With your knowledge of materials and technical design solutions, you ensure that our designs are not only beautiful but also feasible. You will become part of our TEC (technical) team, where we actively share and apply knowledge together.

Important to know: you will not become a draftsman. You actively contribute ideas, help design, and are an important link in the project team.

Vereisten

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Technical (Landscape) Design (Larenstein Engineering, or similar)
• Good technical insight and technical aptitude
• Demonstrable qualities in terms of manufacturability, detailing, and materialization
• Knowledge of and affinity with plants (a plus)
• Proficiency in creating clear, legible CAD drawings in 2D, and preferably also 3D.
• Experience with the technical phase (Final Design) of a project, and co-designing during earlier phases
• Strong communication skills, both within the design team and externally towards clients, manufacturers, and contractors.
• The ability to work both independently and within a creative, dynamic team
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience as a technical (landscape) designer
