Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond serves a diverse region, from the largest port in Europe to urban and rural areas. In the role of Team Leader Oversight and Enforcement Industry, you will contribute to the safety of industrial companies within this complex environment, working alongside your team.

De Rol

You will lead a team of approximately 14 highly trained inspectors and supervisors who oversee industrial companies and environmentally harmful activities, including Seveso facilities and corporate fire safety. They conduct inspections, audits, and investigations into reports and incidents, helping to prevent and manage crises.

As a team leader, you will provide direction, set priorities, and create conditions for professionals to perform their work effectively. You will be integrally responsible for personnel, budget, quality, production, reporting, and the development of the work area, supported by legal experts, policy officers, specialists, and project managers.

Your team will also coordinate collaboration among five safety regions for inspections at the most high-risk companies in South Holland and Zeeland. You will represent VRR in regional and national discussions and contribute to the further development of the field.

You will work closely with the Team Leader Oversight Construction, and together with the Team Leader Advice and Licensing, the department head, and the policy coordinator, you will form the management of Industrial Safety. In this role, you will look beyond your own team and contribute to the direction and development of the department. You possess current experience as a leader in oversight and enforcement, industrial safety, or a comparable environment;

Current knowledge of laws and regulations regarding industrial safety and the Environmental Act, including environmentally harmful activities and/or Seveso, is a plus.

De afdeling en jouw team

You will work in the Industrial Safety department, consisting of approximately 39 employees and playing a leading role in safety at industrial sites within VRR. The department includes Oversight and Enforcement Industry, Advice and Licensing Industry, and Staff and Policy. We also advise and support other safety regions in industrial safety, including through the National Expertise Center for Industrial Safety.

Your team is responsible for Seveso oversight, oversight of corporate fire safety, and advising on fire safety oversight at industrial sites. In addition to planned oversight, the team deals with reports, incident investigations, and enforcement of deviations.

You will be classified in scale 12 with a salary ranging from €5,478 to €7,473, with a potential increase to scale 13 with a salary of €6,102 to €8,091 (based on 36 hours). This is a full-time position for 36 hours per week, but if you are available for at least 32 hours per week, we would also like to hear from you. If you wish to work 40 hours, you will accumulate an average of 25 ADV days per year. You will receive a flexible allowance of 18.63%. Additional leave hours? A new bike? Holiday pay?
