In this role, you will lead the specialized nursing team in Cardiothoracic Surgery, consisting of around 50 colleagues, including lead nurses, medium care nurses, and trainees. At UMC Utrecht, we are implementing a new organizational structure that closely integrates care, education, and innovation. You will contribute to the development of your team and establish a clear position within the new Clinical Center.

• Shape personnel policies and ensure a safe, healthy work environment and a positive learning climate for colleague development.
• Be responsible for short-term objectives (1 year) and provide input for medium-term goals (2-4 years) for the cluster.
• Support your team through changes, such as the development of uniform work processes, digitization, and the renovation of UMC Utrecht.
• Help further develop digital and data-driven practices and contribute to the design of future care processes.
• Identify areas for improvement in work processes and lead projects that enhance quality, efficiency, and service.
• Encourage colleagues to develop, take responsibility, and integrate improvement into daily work.

You will collaborate closely with fellow team leaders from other specialties within the cluster, such as the Cardiology department, working together towards shared goals and uniform practices across departments.
