STS Technician (Indoor) at Royal SMIT Transformers B.V.

As an STS Technician (indoor), you will work in our workshop in Nijmegen on components for the construction of transformers. When not focused on new builds, you will maintain transformers that have been in operation for years. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, performing revisions, and implementing improvements.

Your work will be technically challenging as you assemble, adjust, and test new installations while continuously implementing enhancements to optimize quality and reliability. You will work on transformers in the low, medium, and high voltage segments, dealing with the complete system: from tank and core to appendages, pipes, and internal components. Safety is always a priority; you will adhere to strict safety and hygiene guidelines.

Verantwoordelijkheden

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with transformers.
Perform preventive maintenance and revisions.
Interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Independently assemble transformers (oven, vacuum, and filling processes).
Conduct measurements using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and testing equipment.
Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks.
Contribute ideas for modifications to improve performance and prevent issues.
Document findings, hours, and materials in the service database.
Actively contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

You are a skilled technician with a strong technical foundation and a curious mindset. You feel at home in an industrial environment, work methodically, and take responsibility for your work. Safety and quality are always your top priorities.

Completed MBO education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering.
Affinity for maintenance, revision, and troubleshooting of technical installations.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (or the motivation to further develop this).
Ability to read and apply technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
Independent and precise work attitude.
Willingness to work with safety regulations and transformer hygiene.
Ability to perform work and understand documentation in English and/or German.
Practical mindset and team-oriented mentality.
