T-shirts, sweaters, and basics: jersey upperwear is at the heart of HEMA's wardrobe. With large volumes, recurring bestsellers, and customers relying on quality every day, you will be responsible for the procurement of this category. You will define the negotiation strategy, collaborate with suppliers and purchasing offices worldwide, and make a difference in cost, quality, and sustainability.
Wat ga je doen
Procurement at HEMA is in full swing. We have sharpened our purchasing strategy and are restructuring the department with clusters per product group and a Center of Excellence. Procurement tasks currently partly under category management will be consolidated. Within the fashion cluster, you will be responsible for all jersey upperwear. You will translate the purchasing strategy into concrete negotiation strategies for a category with large volumes and many repeat purchases. You will focus on optimal cost price (COGS) through data-driven negotiations, supplier consolidation, and design to value, for example by smartly assessing materials, specifications, and production. You will ensure sourcing and contracting, build long-term relationships with core suppliers, and monitor performance on quality, availability, speed to market, innovation, and sustainability. You will manage and report on the ESG performance of suppliers. You will work according to the integral Category Management 2.0 approach, in collaboration with category management, the Center of Excellence, and our purchasing offices abroad, and contribute to department-wide projects while mentoring assistants.
