Uren per veertien dagen

You will work 84 hours per fortnight according to the rostered shift work as described in the Tasmanian Fire Fighting Industry Employees Award 2022. Promotion to Station Officer may require completion of future Non-Rostered Shift Work.

Proeftijd

Your permanent promotion to Station Officer will be subject to successfully completing a six (6) month trial period in accordance with clause 3.2.6 of the Firefighting Industrial Agreement 2025.

Taken

• Manage assigned personnel and physical resources according to organisational policy and strategy for effective emergency response and community preparedness.
• Supervise operations at emergency incidents.
• Deliver operational and fire safety training.
• Implement community fire safety and education programs.

Vereisten

• Attain the rank of Leading Firefighter in accordance with the Tasmanian Fire Fighting Industry Employees Award qualifications or equivalent.

Pre-employment Checks

Candidates must satisfy a pre-employment check. Serious criminal offences may lead to application denial. Relevant offences include:

• Arson and fire setting
• Sexual offences
• Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary)
• Deception
• Violent crimes
• Malicious damage
• Trafficking of narcotics
• False alarm raising

• Evidence of ongoing professional development and skills maintenance.
• Meet the medical requirements of the TFS.
• High standard of health and fitness.
• Hold a current driver’s licence with ‘MR’ endorsement.
