As a Service Desk Technician, you will serve as the first point of contact for end-user devices at a busy NATO site. Your primary responsibilities will include issuing and collecting equipment, resolving device-related incidents, and providing direct support to users. You will work mostly on-site, with some remote work and occasional travel to other locations in the Netherlands and Germany.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Direct end-user support and customer interaction: issuing equipment, collecting it, and resolving device-related incidents.
• Configuring hardware and software environments for integrated systems, installing or removing components as instructed, and ensuring installations function correctly.
• Producing integration test specifications, executing tests, and reporting results.
• Running standard tests and assisting in fault investigation.
• Maintaining the operational workstation baseline across multiple networks.
• Ensuring successful deployment of security updates, anti-malware, and data-loss-prevention endpoints, while maintaining security settings and group policies.
• Installing and documenting remote application provisioning, including Windows Remote App.
• Contributing to hardware platform design and installation decisions, focusing on cost, performance, and tooling, while minimizing disruptions during platform changes.
• Collaborating with the centralized service desk on incident, problem, and change management, and working with local technical staff, teams, customer contacts, and external companies.

Requirements

• Recent experience (within the last three years) in first-line support for modern, networked end-user devices such as notebooks, monitors, and printers.
• Higher vocational training in a relevant field with two years of relevant experience, or a secondary qualification with four years of experience.
• At least two years of experience supporting hardware, software, networks, and computers in a large organization.
• Hands-on experience in client provisioning, application deployment, and bare-metal installations using MDT and SCCM.
• Practical troubleshooting skills for client OS and software provisioning issues.
• In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft operating system, particularly Windows 10 and 11.
• Experience in implementing and administering large Active Directory environments.
• Strong communication skills, as this is a user-facing role, and proficiency in English.
• ITIL Foundation certification is required.
