As a Sensing & Calibration Architect, you will be responsible for integrating calibration measurements with algorithms to enhance tool performance. This hands-on role requires collaboration with software and hardware teams, reporting directly to the Project Leader for Software & Algorithms.

The Role

You will lead the technical architecture for sensing and calibration, ensuring seamless integration between optical hardware and metrology signal interpretation algorithms. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the interface and requirements between calibration and inference algorithms.
• Developing and refining calibration methods to enhance instrument accuracy and address sensing inaccuracies.
• Embedding calibration methods into the broader on-tool software framework.
• Providing technical leadership to the sensing and calibration teams, guiding architectural decisions and unblocking challenges.
• Maintaining a system-level perspective, summarizing team activities and representing the discipline across the organization.

Requirements

• PhD in physics, photonics, or a related field.
• Strong algorithmic background with practical optical hardware experience, or vice versa.
• Expertise in modeling and simulating optical systems, including beam propagation and Fourier optics.
• Significant experience in data analysis of optical measurements.
• Familiarity with hardware for acquiring optical signals, such as spectrometers and detectors.
• Experience in leading or guiding technical work is preferred.
