We're supporting a client looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to take ownership of testing across a complex HR technology landscape. This is a genuinely hands-on role. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail—designing, writing and executing tests themselves, investigating defects, and ensuring quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing • Owning smoke testing for releases and go-lives • Validating HR, payroll, and organisational processes across multiple systems • Investigating defects and working closely with technical and configuration teams to resolve issues • Managing test planning, test data, and release reporting • Identifying quality risks and driving continuous improvement • Supporting knowledge sharing and working closely with HR stakeholders

Requirements

Key experience required: ✅ Workday or SAP HCM or ShapeIn ✅ HR & Payroll process testing ✅ Integration & End-to-End Testing ✅ Smoke, Regression & Functional Testing ✅ Data Migration Validation ✅ Jira / ALM or similar test management tools

We're looking for someone who is: ✔ Senior and delivery-focused ✔ Highly proactive and able to work independently ✔ Comfortable working directly within the systems rather than managing others ✔ A strong communicator who can bridge business and technical teams
