The MongoDB Query Execution Team is seeking talented software engineers to enhance our distributed query system. Our engineers focus on implementing and maintaining execution algorithms, developing new query language features, and optimizing database performance to support our customers' critical workloads.

Position Expectations

Understand and enhance the current functionality of the MongoDB query engine.
Contribute high-quality C++ code and engage in constructive code reviews.
Identify, design, implement, test, and support new features that improve query performance, robustness, and diagnostics, as well as integration with other products and tools.
Collaborate effectively with peers to deliver outstanding technical solutions.

Candidate Profile

5+ years of experience in systems programming.
Experience in databases and/or data management systems is a significant advantage, though not mandatory.
Hands-on experience in building industrial-strength software.
Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
Familiarity with large code bases, preferably in C++, C, Rust, or a similar compiled language.
B.Sc in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Interest in the theory and practice of database query engines; hands-on experience or an M.Sc./Ph.D. in this field is a plus.
