We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Agentic SOC team. At Eye, we organize engineering around mission-driven groups focused on achieving clear outcomes. This team’s mission is to create LLM-powered agents that support our security analysts by handling repetitive investigation and triage tasks, allowing them to concentrate on more complex judgments.

You will work within a small, full-stack team of 2 to 3 engineers, contributing to your stream's objectives by collaborating across various systems and layers necessary for successful delivery. This role is ideal for someone who seeks genuine ownership over their work and is eager to deploy agents in a live production SOC environment where accuracy, latency, and cost are critical.

• Own features end-to-end as Feature Lead: scope the problem, coordinate team efforts, make daily technical decisions, and deliver to production with minimal supervision.
• Lead the design and implementation of LLM agents that integrate into our SOC workflows, focusing on tool design, prompt and context engineering, evaluations, and guardrails. Make informed trade-offs regarding accuracy, cost, latency, and the balance between agent autonomy and human oversight.
• Facilitate technical design discussions within your stream and influence architecture and standards as necessary. Set high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Base engineering decisions on outcomes. Challenge unclear objectives, propose simpler or faster solutions, and maintain close ties with the security analysts and customers your agents serve.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design feedback, acting as a multiplier rather than just a strong individual contributor.
• Participate in hiring processes by interviewing candidates, helping to establish standards, and supporting onboarding.
• Foster a psychologically safe and outcome-oriented team culture, leading by example during incidents and high-pressure situations. The position is remote, based in the Netherlands or Berlin, with a commitment to travel to the office (The Hague or Berlin) twice a week.

Wat je nodig hebt

• 5+ years of development experience with significant full-stack exposure, comfortable across backend and frontend layers, and able to learn new technologies independently.
• Expertise in at least one technical area and broad competence across the stack, having designed and deployed systems where performance, security, reliability, and maintainability were essential, with clear explanations of trade-offs made.
• Experience with strongly typed languages (Typescript, Java, .NET, PHP, etc.). Familiarity with Go and React is a plus, and we can quickly onboard engineers with strong typed language backgrounds.
• Practical experience in building LLM agents, with evidence of their effectiveness. You should have developed and deployed at least one substantial LLM-powered agent or workflow, either in production or as a side project with real users, and be able to discuss design choices regarding tool usage, context, evaluations, failure management, autonomy, cost, and latency.
• Proficiency in using AI coding tools as part of your daily development workflow.
• A history of elevating the engineering standards of your peers through mentoring, code reviews, and design feedback.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and leadership, and to document designs and decisions in an accessible manner.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and principles to develop safe, trusted systems.
• Fluency in English is required.
