High Tech Crime knows no boundaries. In your role as Senior Secretary at the National Prosecutor's Office, you will work on the most complex high-tech crime cases in the Netherlands and beyond. Together with the public prosecutor, you will guide innovative investigative efforts, collaborate with national and international partners, and contribute to tackling cybercriminals who disrupt our society.

The Role

You will lead complex investigations where both crime and detection are high-tech. Investigations may include the criminals behind the hack at telecom provider ODIDO, a criminal VPN service, a malware developer, or a global initiative against botnets. The most advanced forms of cybercrime are at the center, where data-driven detection and international cooperation are the norm.

No two workdays will be the same in your role as Senior Secretary. During your workday, you might:

• Attend an (international) meeting with foreign law enforcement agencies or private companies;
• Assess police requests for special investigative powers;
• Contribute ideas for alternative interventions;
• Draft charges and evidence summaries for a criminal case in which you are involved.

Requirements

• You hold a university law degree with civil effect;
• You have relevant work experience in criminal law, the cyber domain, or international criminal law;
• You possess experience and/or affinity with high-tech crime. Where you lack experience, you are driven and capable of quickly acquiring the necessary knowledge.

About the Company

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses. As a Senior Secretary, you will work within the High Tech Crime cluster, which, along with the Online and Transnational Sexual Child Abuse cluster, is part of Team Rotterdam 4 of the National Prosecutor's Office. The Cybercrime Knowledge and Expertise Center is part of this cluster.

The High Tech Crime cluster consists of a fine combination of experienced public prosecutors and court secretaries with a strong drive and a good dose of courage. We are the game changers in the fight against the most complex forms of high-tech crime, such as cybercrime and cyber-enabled crime. Our focus is on criminal investigations, alternative interventions, and project-based efforts with a high-tech component. These are characterized as innovative and proactive, contributing to combating innovative, organized, and undermining crime with a high impact.

What We Offer

In addition to your salary, you will receive an individual choice budget (IKB). This consists of money (16.5% of your gross annual salary) and time. This time consists of above-statutory hours, proportional to the size of your employment and age. With the IKB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment conditions. For example, you can choose to have part of the budget paid out when you wish. You can also convert this budget into extra leave and vice versa or spend it on tax-friendly goals. Additional Information

• Depending on education, work experience, and knowledge, the salary will be classified in scale 10 CAO Rijk (minimum €3,496.31 and maximum €5,535.40 gross for a 36-hour workweek). Depending on your background and experience, classification may occur in starting scale 9;
• Fixed-term employment contract with a prospect of a permanent position;
