We are collaborating with a top-tier European Power/Energy trading firm to establish a new quantitative and algorithmic trading capability. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced energy-focused Quant Developer to significantly influence model development, strategy, and technical direction from the outset.

The Role

You will be part of a small, highly skilled team responsible for creating forward-looking price models and translating them into systematic trading strategies for live markets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feature engineering using fundamental, market, and flow data.
• Apply machine learning techniques to enhance forecast accuracy and decision-making.
• Perform quantitative research on systematic trading strategies for power futures.
• Implement models into algorithmic signal generation frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with traders on both discretionary and automated execution.
• Manage the complete lifecycle: data handling, research, modeling, back-testing, and production deployment.

Requirements

• Strong software development skills.
• Proficiency in Python; experience with performance-oriented languages is a plus.
• Solid engineering practices and experience in model production.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
• Advanced modeling and machine learning capabilities.
• Hands-on experience applying machine learning to financial or power/energy markets.
• A Master's degree in Machine Learning, AI, Applied Mathematics, or a related field is advantageous.
• Quantitative finance and statistical expertise.
• Strong foundation in statistics, forecasting, and strategy evaluation.
