Senior Product Manager - Editorial Triage at Elsevier

Our team supports the editorial processes of the largest scientific publisher globally, handling millions of manuscript submissions yearly across thousands of journals and tens of thousands of editors. As submission volumes rise, we modernize editorial processes to scale without compromising the scientific record's integrity. Our evidence-driven team comprises engineers, UX designers, data scientists, product analysts, and subject-matter experts, all committed to user needs and data-driven decision-making.

De rol

In this role, you will own the editorial triage process, addressing the challenges of high submission volumes and manual, fragmented decision-making. Your goal is to transition triage from a manual process to an AI-assisted editorial intelligence layer that supports human judgment. You will collaborate closely with a data science team to evaluate signals and partner with analytics and editorial workflow teams to enhance the triage experience.

Verantwoordelijkheden

Define and deliver the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for editorial triage solutions.
Lead product delivery within a cross-functional agile team, managing priorities and maintaining a healthy backlog.
Conduct customer discovery with editorial users to identify needs and drive product improvements.
Design and enhance signal management and triage experiences to help users prioritize and act on information effectively.
Foster evidence-based decision-making through research, analytics, and clearly defined success measures.
Partner with data science teams to evaluate signal quality and translate findings into product enhancements.
Connect product outcomes to business goals through KPIs, OKRs, and strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with engineering teams to assess architectural and technical trade-offs.
Build products that promote transparency, accountability, and responsible decision-making, ensuring human oversight.
Work closely with stakeholders across various departments to align priorities and communicate impact.
Support go-to-market planning, product launches, customer adoption, and change management activities.

Vereisten

Significant product management experience, including ownership of product strategy and delivery.
Strong product thinking and the ability to define problems and focus on meaningful user outcomes.
Experience with AI and machine learning products, including generative AI or agent-based workflows.
Strong analytical skills and experience making decisions in complex environments.
Proven experience leading product initiatives within cross-functional teams.
Ability to collaborate with data scientists and use insights from models to guide product decisions.
Understanding of technical concepts and architectural trade-offs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commercial awareness and understanding of product decisions' impact on business outcomes.
Familiarity with scholarly publishing or editorial workflows is a plus but not required.
