In this role, you will be responsible for a significant portion of the policy related to poverty, debt, and social security. You will navigate between policy-making, implementation, and governance, contributing directly to a robust, future-proof approach within Stichtse Vecht.

The Role

You will tackle a pressing agenda in early detection, prevention, and accessible debt assistance. You will co-write an integrated policy plan for social security, translating national developments into locally actionable policies. Collaboration with colleagues, social organizations, and regional partners is key. You will advise management and ensure that policy choices are financially sound.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement policies regarding poverty and debt assistance.
Write the integrated policy plan for social security, connecting poverty, debt, and employment.
Gather information and input from within and outside the organization, translating this into a concrete and actionable policy plan.
Further develop the poverty and debt policy.
Enhance early detection and prevention strategies, focusing on reaching residents and collaborating with involved parties.
Ensure easy and accessible access to debt assistance.
Evaluate grant applications based on the new subsidy scheme and advise on allocations.
Maintain relationships with social partners, establishing agreements on efforts and results while monitoring execution and accountability.
Stay updated on national developments and new legislation, translating them to the local context.
Work on policy regulations, ordinances, and other policy documents.
Advise on minimum policy and provisions for low-income residents, including individual income allowances.
Collaborate with colleagues, executing parties, social organizations, and regional partners.
Provide advice to the portfolio holder, management, the college, and the municipal council on developments and issues within your policy area.
Contribute to the planning and control cycle by translating policy choices into financial implications, monitoring budgets, and providing information for budgets, reports, and annual accounts.
