We are seeking a skilled Senior Mobile Core & Roaming Engineer to join our client's specialized engineering team in the telecommunications sector. You will play a crucial role in managing international roaming, mobile core networks, signalling, and security, ensuring the reliability of essential mobile services.

The Role

In this position, you will navigate a complex mobile network environment, engaging in hands-on operational engineering, troubleshooting, platform optimization, and the implementation of new mobile technologies. Your collaboration with internal engineering teams and international telecom partners will be vital to maintaining secure and reliable mobile connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Leverage strong professional experience in mobile telecommunications networks, specifically in Mobile Core, Packet Core, or Roaming.
• Utilize hands-on experience with international roaming and/or Mobile Core, with exposure to roaming services.
• Apply your understanding of telecommunications signalling protocols, particularly SS7 and Diameter.
• Work with additional protocols and technologies such as SIP, INAP, IP, and relevant 3GPP standards.
• Operate in Linux and/or Unix environments.
• Engage in network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and operational telecommunications tooling.
• Demonstrate knowledge of 4G/LTE, EPC/Packet Core, VoLTE, and/or 5G Core technologies.
• Investigate and resolve complex incidents within business-critical production environments.
• Exhibit strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
• Work independently and make technical decisions as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external telecom partners.
• Maintain professional fluency in English.
• Participate in a periodic on-call rotation.
• Work in a hybrid setup, approximately two days per week.

Nice to Have

• Experience in telecom fraud prevention, detection, or signalling security.
• Familiarity with telecommunications monitoring or signalling platforms like Tekelec, Radcom, or Datamon.
• Experience with automation, scripting, or operational tooling in a DevOps environment.
• Direct experience with international carriers, roaming partners, or telecom providers.
• Hands-on exposure to VoLTE roaming and/or 5G roaming.
