Communications, broadband, and IT developments are advancing rapidly, yet older systems remain operational. It is crucial to establish a leading position in mobile telecommunications in Europe. Therefore, contributing to complex issues like the convergence of telecom, AI, IoT, satellite, and cyber in the next generation, 6G, is essential, along with connecting innovation to societal challenges, such as through the RDI 6G field lab and contributions to the national 6G Testbed of field labs.

The Role

As a Senior Inspector and technical specialist at the RDI, you will engage in various tasks within the Infrastructure Directorate. Your primary focus will be to provide extensive technical expertise for inspections and projects related to the implementation of new developments. This includes digital wireless communication systems like 5G and 6G and the dynamic use of the radio frequency spectrum, both nationally and internationally.

You will independently advise internally and externally on RDI products and processes and may act as a project leader. Collaboration with colleagues from all directorates, various ministries, and external parties is key to developing and expanding ecosystems that link innovative technology to societal value.

You possess strong self-management skills, identify developments and risks in radio technology and related fields (such as AI, IoT, satellite, space), analyze these, draw connections, and propose solutions. You are results-oriented, balancing quantity and quality effectively. You enjoy collaborating with others and believe that multidisciplinary teamwork enhances the quality of outcomes.

Requirements

• HBO or university-level education, preferably in Telecommunications, Electronics, or ICT.
• Work experience demonstrating a WO level of thinking and good knowledge of radio technology and communication/ICT systems.
• Experience with projects and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams and field labs, particularly for experimenting with potential use cases.
• A relevant network of companies, suppliers, and institutions.
• Ability to tailor communication to the target audience.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

What We Offer

• Salary scale 12: €4,818 - €7,094 (gross).
• Fixed-term contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
• 1 year.
• 32 - 36 hours per week. Salary is based on a 36-hour work week.
