Become the ecological conscience of Groenadvies Amsterdam. Groenadvies Amsterdam specializes in ecology and trees, operating as a small, close-knit team within a larger, professional organization. This structure allows our consultancy to grow steadily while maintaining a personal and hands-on approach.

The Role

As a Senior Ecological Advisor, you are much more than an advisor. You are the ecological expert within the team and an important sparring partner for colleagues, clients, and project teams. Your time will be divided between fieldwork, consultancy, project management, and coaching colleagues, making the position diverse and interesting.

Responsibilities

Conduct ecological quick scans, further ecological surveys, and species inventories, and assess the results.
Advise on protected species, habitats, and the Dutch Environment and Planning Act (Omgevingswet).
Prepare activity plans, working protocols, and ecological advice.
Assist clients and design teams in integrating biodiversity from the earliest project stages.
Guide junior and medior ecologists and support their professional development.
Collaborate with designers, project managers, permitting authorities, and clients to identify and resolve ecological issues early on.
Maintain relationships within your professional network and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Contribute actively to the development of Groenadvies Amsterdam's ecological services.

One moment, you may be outside assessing a habitat, and the next, you could be meeting with a municipality, permitting authority, or designer. After that, you might discuss complex ecological issues with your colleagues. You will have a great deal of freedom in how you organize your work. Whether you prefer working from home to complete a report or being outside at project locations, as long as you deliver quality and results, you have the flexibility to work in the way that suits you best.

About GP Groot

GP Groot
