We are recruiting for a global leader in high-frequency trading that is developing proprietary wireless hardware from scratch. They are bringing the entire physical layer algorithm and signal processing design for their next-generation networks in-house and need a Digital Modem Expert to manage the complete PHY layer algorithm lifecycle.

The Role

In this role, you will work with cutting-edge technologies including microwave, shortwave, and proprietary wave radio technology. You will have the opportunity to lead initiatives and take ownership of crucial algorithm bottlenecks in their low-latency connectivity hardware.

Responsibilities

• Model, design, and simulate proprietary high-capacity, point-to-point wireless communication waveforms, systems, and algorithms using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Translate complex mathematical wave theory into highly optimized production code, executing floating-point to bit-exact fixed-point conversions.
• Map and implement signal processing logic directly into physical hardware compute targets, using VHDL/Verilog for high-performance FPGAs (including RFSoC) or optimizing custom instruction sets on target DSP processors.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to design low-latency data pipelines, ensuring seamless streaming of raw radio data across high-speed network interfaces.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in designing digital modem architectures for high-capacity, high-frequency, or challenging environments.
• Exceptional proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for simulation, verification, and end-to-end chain modeling of digital communication systems.
• Deep understanding of strict compute, memory, and timing constraints for low-level hardware optimization.
• Experience with microwave, shortwave, or proprietary wave radio technologies.
