The Role

As a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor, you will utilize your minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in managing costs for mission-critical Data Center or large-scale construction projects. Your responsibilities will include estimating and negotiating change orders, preparing cost plans, reviewing estimates with design teams, and ensuring accurate data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning and present final cost plans.
• Collaborate with design teams and general contractors on cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist contractors in data accuracy.
• Communicate with project managers to prepare cost estimate updates.
• Prepare written comments on contractor submissions, including executive summaries.
• Coordinate cost information for discussions with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects.
• Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Manage cost impact, contingency management, and commitment tracking.
• Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in construction cost management for mission-critical Data Center or large-scale projects.
• Degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
• Recognized industry accreditation or working towards it.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, and value engineering.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Solid technical experience in all areas of cost management.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.
