Developments in energy policy increasingly impact the work of Rijkswaterstaat. As a Senior Advisor for Energy Transition, you will ensure that these developments are timely identified, prioritized, and translated into concrete action perspectives for the organization. This role is essential in helping Rijkswaterstaat incorporate energy challenges into its asset management process.

In your position, you will bring together people, knowledge, policies, and organizational processes to structurally embed energy interests within Rijkswaterstaat. You will monitor developments related to energy transition, energy policy, and legislation, translating these into their impact on Rijkswaterstaat and the asset management process.

You will identify necessary knowledge or decisions and take immediate action on these. Furthermore, you will actively participate in the Strategic Energy Agenda, where Rijkswaterstaat collaborates with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management on priority energy tasks for its networks. The focus will be on themes such as 'energy and spatial demand' and 'resilience of future energy supply'.

You will also contribute to discussions regarding the impact and feasibility of new national and European legislation, particularly concerning electrification and grid congestion affecting the energy supply of Rijkswaterstaat assets or the legal position in executing management tasks.

Your responsibilities include:

• Monitoring developments in energy transition, energy policy, and national and European legislation.
• Translating these developments into consequences for Rijkswaterstaat and the asset management process.
• Contributing to the Strategic Energy Agenda, focusing on 'energy and space' and 'robustness of future energy supply'.
• Advising on the impact and feasibility of developments such as electrification, grid congestion, and new legislation.
• Developing concrete action perspectives and ensuring their integration into the asset management process.
• Promoting awareness and support for your results among colleagues, from management to advisors.
• Building a strong 'energy network' within Rijkswaterstaat, connecting colleagues, knowledge, and policy to advance energy challenges.
