In this role, you will contribute to the safe and responsible use of biocides. Based on provided data and study reports, you will evaluate whether products meet national and/or European admission requirements regarding human toxicological risks.

The Role

Your assessments will ensure that biocides can be used safely. You will review submitted data and research results transparently and consistently. Given the diverse applications and active substances, each dossier you handle will be unique. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from other expertise areas (Efficacy, Environment, and Chemistry) to ensure comprehensive and timely processing of dossiers.

You will also contribute to the further development of our approval processes. If there are changes in legislation, you will translate these into improvements in procedures, evaluation frameworks, and systems. Furthermore, you will maintain contacts with national and European authorities and coordinate with evaluators from other member states, providing substantive advice based on your expertise.

• You have an academic level of working and thinking due to education and experience in human toxicology.
• Experience in human toxicological risk assessments of biocides or other chemical substances is a plus.
• You possess good communication and social skills.
• You speak and write Dutch (minimum B1 level) and English.
• A flexible attitude: you are keen to apply your knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm where needed within the organization.

About the Company

You will work for the Biocides department. Our evaluators are divided into teams focusing on Environment, Human Toxicology, Efficacy, and Chemistry. Additionally, there is a team of project managers handling project management and the procedural aspects of the approval process. We support each other as needed. You will be part of the Human Toxicology Biocides team with six colleagues, where we regularly discuss our work and brainstorm solutions.

The Ctgb is an independent administrative body that implements the Plant Protection Products and Biocides Act (Wgb). This law executes European regulations regarding the approval and use of plant protection products and biocides. The Ctgb operates within the frameworks of Dutch legislation, including the General Administrative Law Act.

We contribute to the responsible use of plant protection products and biocides within Europe, focusing on safety for humans, animals, and the environment. Our evaluations and advice are independent and transparent, based on scientific insights.
