Vacancy Summary
As a scientific evaluator, you will assess the human toxicological risks of biocides, ensuring their safe use in various applications. Join a dedicated team in a dynamic environment focused on regulatory approval processes for biocides in Europe.
Biocides, such as disinfectant hand gels, wood preservatives, and anti-fouling paints, cannot enter the market without approval from the College for the Approval of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (Ctgb) in Ede. As a content evaluator, you will provide the scientific basis for the human toxicological risks of biocides for the College's decisions on various approval applications.
With your evaluations, you contribute to the safe and responsible use of biocides. Based on provided data and study reports, you assess whether products meet national and/or European approval requirements regarding human toxicological risks. Given the wide variety of applications and active substances, no two files you handle will be the same. It is your responsibility to evaluate the provided data and research results in a transparent and consistent manner. You will work closely with and support colleagues from other areas of expertise (Efficacy, Environment, and Chemistry) to ensure that files are processed integrally and within the set deadlines.
As a College, we strive for good and timely decision-making. Therefore, you will also contribute to the further development of our approval processes. If there are changes in legislation, you will translate these into improvements in procedures, evaluation frameworks, and systems. Additionally, you will maintain contacts with national and European authorities and coordinate with evaluators from other member states, regularly providing substantive advice from your expertise.
You are energized by collaborating towards a common goal: ensuring that only substances that are safe for humans, animals, and the environment enter the market. You are curious, eager to learn from others, and contribute to a pleasant and effective collaboration. You actively seek connections with fellow evaluators both within and outside your expertise. Furthermore, you appropriately consider the interests of the organization and other external parties. You easily make contact and can build and maintain a network. What you bring:
You will work for the Biocides department. Our content evaluators for biocides are divided among the teams Environment, Human Toxicology, Efficacy, and Chemistry. Additionally, there is a team of project managers who handle project management and the procedural aspects of the approval process. We support each other substantively where necessary. You will form the Human Toxicology Biocides team with six colleagues. We regularly discuss our work and brainstorm solutions together.
