The Role

As the Scientific Director, you will take charge of the scientific strategy for clients throughout the business development and project lifecycle. Acting as a senior scientific expert, you will assist clients in formulating effective bioanalytical strategies while also supporting proposal development, business growth, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership and technical consultation for bioanalytical, biomarker, and PK/PD programs.
• Collaborate with clients to create fit-for-purpose assay and study strategies that align with their development objectives.
• Assist in proposal development, technical scoping, feasibility assessments, and bid defense meetings.
• Serve as a scientific advisor during client interactions, simplifying complex scientific requirements into practical laboratory solutions.
• Offer guidance on regulatory expectations, including FDA, EMA, ICH, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
• Work alongside Technical Operations, Commercial Operations, Business Development, and Marketing to ensure scientific strategy aligns with operational execution.
• Represent QPS at scientific conferences, through publications, webinars, and client presentations.
• Assess emerging technologies, scientific trends, and innovative approaches to enhance QPS's bioanalytical capabilities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
• Extensive experience in regulated bioanalytical laboratories, CROs, pharmaceutical development, or related scientific leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in bioanalysis, biomarker strategies, PK/PD, and regulated laboratory operations.
• Proficiency with LC-MS/MS, hybrid immunoaffinity LC-MS/MS, ligand binding assays, or related analytical technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of FDA, EMA, ICH, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
• Experience in proposal development, scientific consultation, bid defenses, and client-facing technical discussions.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate across scientific, operational, and commercial teams in a fast-paced environment.
