We are seeking an experienced SAP Payroll Implementation Lead to support a global payroll and HR technology business on a contract basis. This fully remote role includes travel requirements, and you will need to provide your own laptop.

The Role

You will work directly with clients to gather payroll requirements, lead workshops, and manage the configuration and system setup through to go-live. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Validating and configuring payroll solutions and integrations according to Austrian legal and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting data mapping, migration, year-to-date preparation, and accuracy checks.
• Managing all testing phases — SIT, UAT, parallel runs — and resolving configuration and integration issues with global teams.
• Overseeing go-live readiness and post-implementation stabilization.
• Tracking project progress and collaborating with project managers and wider delivery teams to achieve milestones.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Austrian payroll legislation and time regulations.
• Proven hands-on experience in SAP payroll configuration and integrations.
• Demonstrated experience in payroll implementation.
• Fluency in both English and German — written and spoken.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage in a remote environment across global teams.
• Experience with international payroll projects is a plus.
