In this role, you will play a key part in the saltmarsh research program at Wageningen Marine Research (WMR). Collaborating closely with the saltmarsh team, your responsibilities will include conducting field measurements and analyses to examine long-term vegetation dynamics and sediment accretion, assessing the impacts of land subsidence from gas extraction, and studying carbon sequestration within saltmarsh ecosystems. Your findings will be instrumental in producing reports and offering guidance on saltmarsh restoration strategies and management plans, contributing to the development of nature-based solutions for coastal regions and their responsible implementation.
Wageningen Marine Research is a leading organization in the Netherlands focused on marine ecological data collection, covering various marine life forms. Your primary work area will be the Dutch Wadden Sea, with potential contributions to projects across the Netherlands and internationally. You will help maintain and develop a saltmarsh monitoring dataset that holds over 60 years of valuable ecological data.
