In this role, you will navigate and operate fast RHIBs under challenging conditions in European and international waters. You will often work independently, taking direct responsibility for the safety of passengers and crew members. Based in Den Helder, you will be part of a close-knit team involved in the nautical process aboard specialized vessels.

The Role

• Safely and accurately navigate the RHIB during inspections of fishing, recreational, and maritime traffic.
• Serve as lookout on the bridge to signal approaching vessels and assess risk situations in a timely manner.
• Ensure safe transfers and smooth operations for all passengers.
• Perform general and supportive nautical tasks aboard the vessels.

Your Team

You will work alongside fellow crew members on the specialized vessels of the Rijksrederij, part of the Zee en Delta service of Rijkswaterstaat. In a small, cohesive team, you will primarily operate on three-day shifts in the North Sea and European waters. The atmosphere on board is professional and collegial, strongly focused on mutual trust and safety. You will collaborate closely with enforcement agencies such as the Coast Guard, Customs, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
