The Role

You will engage in the complete InSAR processing chain, from data processing and quality control to interpretation. Your responsibilities will include developing software tools to ensure robust, scalable, and reproducible processing, integrating InSAR observations with physical modeling of geohazards, and supporting groundwater management, mining activities, and energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for advanced InSAR data processing, including interferogram formation, phase unwrapping, atmospheric correction, and time-series inversion.
• Process and quality-control multi-temporal InSAR stacks to derive ground deformation products.
• Enhance and automate existing InSAR processing workflows for both operational and research purposes.
• Integrate InSAR-derived deformation measurements with geomechanical models.
• Contribute to research proposals, technical reports, and scientific publications.
• Assist in project acquisition and client communication.

Requirements

• A PhD in geodesy, geophysics, or remote sensing; other relevant degrees may also be considered.
• Hands-on experience with InSAR data processing using tools like GAMMA, ISCE, StaMPS, GMTSAR, or similar.
• Proven experience processing SAR data from Sentinel-1, RadarSAT-2, TerraSAR-X, or other commercial satellites.
• Strong understanding of InSAR error sources and correction methods, including atmospheric delay and phase unwrapping.
• Proficient coding and software development skills, preferably in Python; experience with geospatial or SAR libraries is a plus.
• Familiarity with geodetic concepts and GPS/GNSS data processing is desirable.
• Research background in geomechanics or ground deformation modeling.
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong research track record.
• Ability to produce high-quality academic texts and clear reports, proposals, and grants.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and results-driven.
• Customer-oriented with effective communication skills.
• Interest in both research and business consultancy projects.
• Willingness to participate in acquiring new projects.
