The Role

As a Research Intern on the Predictions team at Super, you will lead scoping research in a product space where questions are still forming, user needs are undefined, and design direction is yet to be established. Your insights will directly impact product development.

Responsibilities

• Own the exploratory research program for Predictions: map the space from scratch using secondary research, behavioral data analysis, and primary user research.
• Conduct in-depth qualitative interviews to understand how users form and act on predictions, including their mental models and emotional responses.
• Utilize AI-moderated interview tools (Outset.ai, Remesh, or similar) for structured discovery at scale.
• Design and implement a quantitative survey to test hypotheses and segment users based on prediction-relevant attitudes and behaviors.
• Integrate qualitative and quantitative findings into a coherent user needs framework for the Predictions space.
• Build LLM-assisted analysis pipelines for transcript coding and thematic synthesis, ensuring human validation.
• Analyze existing behavioral data with support from the Analytics team to ground primary research in actual usage patterns.
• Synthesize findings into a living insight framework that the product team can continuously reference.
• Deliver a scoping research package at the end of your placement, detailing user needs and opportunities in the Predictions space with documented methods and recommendations.
• Present findings confidently to the UX Research team, Product Management, and design stakeholders, defending your methodology and addressing any misinterpretations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed an MSc or equivalent postgraduate program in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Behavioural Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Sociology, Applied Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven mixed-methods capability: experience in qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, with a methodological understanding of both.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in research or analytical contexts, including LLM-assisted analysis or automated synthesis.
• Comfort in ambiguous problem spaces, generating your own hypotheses and structuring inquiries.
• Ability to work efficiently, optimizing workflows and iterating on analytical approaches.
• Critical application of AI tools, recognizing potential failure modes and incorporating validation steps.
• Deliver outputs that serve as actionable research packages for product teams.
• Fluent in English, as it is the working language of the research function.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-moderated research platforms (Outset.ai, Remesh, Discuss.io, or similar).
• Familiarity with qualitative analysis tools (Dovetail, NVivo, Atlas.ti, or similar).
• Knowledge of Python or R for survey analysis or quantitative data pipelines.
• Interest in sports, gaming, or betting products.
• Previous internship experience in UX research, market research, or behavioral science.
• Multi-lingual capabilities relevant to Super's markets (e.g., Romanian, Polish, Spanish, Croatian, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian).
