We are seeking Full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) candidates to join the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at LaGuardia ATCT (LGA) in Flushing, NY, providing air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The Role:

The RPO acts as the pilot and other controllers in the Air Traffic Controller training simulator. The RPO operates a simulated radar display and voice communication system to replicate the actions and communications of pilots and remote ATC facilities during training exercises. RPOs receive voice commands from students, input appropriate entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions, translate displayed information into proper ATC terminology, and respond to the student using correct phraseology via the VCS.

Requirements:

• Completion of certifications: Classroom (pass test on airspace and procedures) and Lab (perform as a Remote Pilot Operator on all positions).

The FAA is committed to ensuring air traffic control specialists provide a high level of safety and professionalism to the flying public. A well-trained Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce is crucial to fulfilling this responsibility. The FAA employs over 14,000 air traffic controllers who safely separate more than 50,000 aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS) daily.

To provide these air traffic services, the FAA trains new air traffic control specialists and offers recurrent training to current specialists. Contractor-provided instructional services are utilized at FAA ATC facilities across the U.S. and its territories to meet these training needs. The contractor's scope includes all training and support necessary to prepare students to become fully certified air traffic controllers. SAIC is required to provide training and related support services for all types and levels of ATC facilities.
