As a Quality Management System Specialist, you will take ownership of supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving our Management System. Your primary goal is to ensure the system operates effectively, remains organized, and aligns with our company objectives, customer requirements, and applicable standards.

The Role

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Business Process Owners across various areas, including Quality, Information Security, and soon Environmental and Occupational Health departments. You will manage changes and transitions within the Management System, ensuring effective implementation through training and Quality Planning. Additionally, you will coordinate internal and external audits, follow up on findings, and communicate key results and actions to the Leadership Team. Your contributions will be vital to the Management Review process, helping identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions that support the ongoing development of our Management System. This is not just a maintenance role; you will actively drive improvements and enhance the system!

About the Company

The Quality team at SMART Photonics plays a crucial role in ensuring that our products, processes, and operations meet the high standards expected by our customers and our growing organization. Composed of four team members, including the Quality Manager, you will be expected to provide ad hoc support on Quality-related topics, such as problem-solving, root cause analysis (8D), and FMEA for internal projects or supplier-related issues. The team is supportive, and we expect you to reciprocate. You will play an integral role in driving our company to the next phase of growth as we ramp up volume production!

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Business Management System to meet ISO 9001 and other customer-specific requirements.
• Oversee changes and transitions of the Management System and ensure effective implementation.
• Coordinate and facilitate Internal & External audits, including customer audits, against applicable requirements like ISO 9001.
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance the Management System.
• Promote and enforce good documentation practices within the organization.
• Assist the team with ad hoc quality engineering requests, including risk/impact analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (8D).

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience managing (Quality) Management Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or others.
• Familiarity with internal and external audits.
• Extensive experience in a similar role within the semiconductor, automotive, MedTech, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of Quality Tools such as FMEA, CAPA, and 8D problem-solving techniques.
• A proactive, hands-on mindset; you take ownership and drive initiatives forward without waiting for direction.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus) to influence and challenge stakeholders.
• Must reside in the Netherlands, as we are unable to sponsor visas for this role.
