We're looking for a Programmatic EHS Manager to create, train, implement, and manage Nscale's overall Environmental, Health & Safety program for Low Voltage. You'll set the safety standards, processes, and metrics that every low-voltage project follows, ensuring consistent application across sites and regions as we scale AI data center deployments. The program encompasses everyone involved in low-voltage work for Nscale, including full-time employees, contract employees, and installation contractors. You'll manage the program for Nscale's workforce and ensure installation contractors' safety programs align with our standards.

Confined space entry is a major aspect of this role, as low-voltage work often requires crews to enter underground vaults, manholes, utility tunnels, and other permit-required spaces. You will ensure all entrants are trained, permitted, monitored, and covered by a rescue plan.

Our sites operate multiple safety programs simultaneously, including those of the general contractor, site owner, and Nscale's own. You'll serve as the primary EHS contact for the low-voltage team with all these entities. While this is primarily a program role, you may occasionally provide direct site safety coverage when needed.

EHS Program Ownership

  • Develop, implement, and manage Nscale's EHS program for Low Voltage, including policies, standards, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Define program requirements for job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, permits to work, and stop-work authority.
  • Establish standards for high-risk activities typical in low-voltage work, such as confined space entry, work at heights, and work near energized equipment, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other regulations.
