As our Product Research Physicist, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of controlling neutral-atom platforms and scaling them effectively, from analog control to large systems implementing quantum error correction.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the control requirements for neutral-atom platforms, including atoms in optical tweezers and lattices, spanning state preparation, gating, and readout. Your insights will inform product requirements and architecture, guiding the design and delivery of exceptional control solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of control requirements for neutral-atom platforms across various processes.
• Characterize control requirements for neutral-atom experiments, including analog signal chains and real-time control flows.
• Define scaling strategies for control from a few qubits to large systems with quantum error correction, identifying potential bottlenecks.
• Translate insights into clear product requirements and reference architectures, collaborating with hardware, firmware, and software teams.
• Validate proposed solutions through modeling, simulation, and experimental engagement, ensuring alignment with real control needs.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, and the neutral-atom community to align our roadmap with actual requirements and emerging trends.

Requirements

• PhD in quantum physics or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in experimental quantum physics and/or computing.
• Proven track record of scientific achievements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, along with strong presentation abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; self-driven with high independence and discipline.
• Hands-on experimental experience with neutral-atom systems is strongly preferred.
