The Principal Technician (ICT Systems) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of information and communication technology systems. This role includes providing technical support to end-users and troubleshooting any arising issues. The technician will stay updated with the latest technology trends and make recommendations for system improvements. Key responsibilities include configuring hardware and software, managing computers and network devices, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring data security and system reliability, and collaborating with various departments to optimize the organization's ICT infrastructure for efficient business operations.

Responsibilities:

Software Configuration: Design, verify, document, amend, and refactor moderately complex software configurations for deployment, applying agreed standards and tools.
System Software: Monitor operational systems for resource usage and failure rates, install and test new versions of system software, and contribute to preparation of implementation procedures with fallback plans.
Network Support: Perform network maintenance tasks, diagnose network problems using troubleshooting methodologies, and collect performance statistics using network management software.
Systems Installation and Removal: Install or remove hardware/software, test installations, correct problems, and document results.
Release and Deployment: Use approved tools for deployment activities, administer logging of results, and document technical activities undertaken.

In addition, the Principal Technician will provide 24/7 immediate on-call response to the Service Operations with technical AirC2 expertise and solutions at Level 2 support, ensuring ticket responses and resolutions meet operational needs and defined KPIs. When not on-call, they will work as an integrated member of the assigned service team, assisting with design, development, testing, and on-site support of engineering changes to services and processes.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Active NATO SECRET security clearance.
Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience.
At least 3 years practical experience in implementation and maintenance of ICT end systems within a large organization.
Proficient in configuring hardware and software with a solid understanding of ICT systems.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing support to end-users.
