Join our international agile team in Amsterdam as a PostgreSQL DBA. Contribute to the full lifecycle of system operations, ensuring stability and performance in a dynamic environment.

As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will be part of a multidisciplinary, international agile squad based in Leeuwarden, responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating our systems. You will engage throughout the full lifecycle—from refining user stories to ensuring production stability and observability.

The Role

Work both independently and collaboratively within the team.
Communicate clearly and openly in English.
Demonstrate a proactive and learning-oriented mindset.
Maintain attention to detail and deliver under pressure.
Share knowledge effectively within the team.
Bring experience from corporate and/or financial agile environments.
Handle large scale, high availability platforms (24/7, resilience, reliability).
Perform platform operations including deployments, automation, lifecycle management, support, risk management, coding, testing, runbooks, incident/change management, observability, capacity planning, and service availability.
Design reusable automation and tooling for multiple teams.
Participate in standby/on-call rotations.

Requirements

Proven experience as a PostgreSQL application DBA (setup, usage, performance, monitoring, DDL, optimization).
Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting (Bash / Python).
Experience with containerization (Docker).
Familiarity with Ansible.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines.
Proficient in Git / GitHub / Maven.
Experience with observability tooling (ELKaaS, Prometheus, Grafana).
