Vacancies Summary
Join our innovative project REDOX BLEND to develop next-generation batteries for long-duration energy storage. This postdoc position focuses on enhancing energy density through redox-mediated solutions, collaborating across universities and with industry partners.
Energy storage is crucial for balancing electricity consumption and intermittent renewable energy supply. As renewable electricity increases in our energy mix, effective electricity storage solutions are necessary to prevent grid congestion and transmission bottlenecks, especially for durations exceeding 25 hours. In response, we initiated the REDOX BLEND research project, collaborating with seven Dutch universities and knowledge institutes to create ultra-long-duration energy storage batteries. This postdoctoral position will specifically explore redox-mediated solutions to enhance the energy density of flow batteries, focusing on complexes with transition metals, such as iron-based complexes, and inorganic prussian blue analogue materials, along with coatings and additives for stable redox-active particles.
