The Role

Crop breeding is essential in tackling pressing global issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and food security. This position focuses on utilizing advanced biotechnology and molecular breeding tools to create crop cultivars, particularly tomatoes, that are resilient to various diseases and abiotic stresses.

Responsibilities

• Identify future needs in plant breeding.
• Design and conduct research, including publishing articles.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students.

Requirements

• PhD in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology/Virology, or a related field.
• Proven skills in molecular genetics research related to disease resistance.
• Excellent planning and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Collaborative attitude and interest in working with colleagues and students.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level).
