The RBA&S Physical Security team operates as the Second Line of Defense, concentrating on the organization's security needs by defining global policies, advising on site-specific measures, and validating implementations.

The RBA&S Physical Security Innovation team is integral to maintaining resilient and future-proof security capabilities. This team shapes the future of physical security through innovation, architecture, and governance, ensuring new ideas are systematically identified, assessed, tested, and integrated into ASML’s Physical Security Framework.

Your Assignment

The goal of this internship is to develop and maintain an internal and external physical security innovation funneling mechanism. As an intern, you will assist in designing and implementing this structured mechanism to ensure security concepts and initiatives are:

• Collected consistently
• Assessed and prioritized
• Tested via proof-of-concepts
• Translated into scalable and governed security solutions

Responsibilities

• Identify and structure sources of physical security innovation
• Design a standardized innovation mechanism
• Define evaluation and prioritization criteria for security initiatives
• Assist in setting up and evaluating proof-of-concepts (PoCs)
• Translate innovation outcomes into governed security outputs
• Design and document the Physical Security Innovation Funnel
• Document, communicate, and present progress and outcomes

You will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders, gaining valuable insights into how innovation is governed in a complex, global organization.

This is a bachelor internship lasting a minimum of 6 months, requiring at least 4 days per week on-site. The internship is set to start in September 2026.

Your Profile

To qualify for this internship, you:

• Are enrolled in a Bachelor’s program (e.g., Physical Security, Innovation Management, Risk, or similar)
• Have a strong interest in innovation, security, or technology development
• Are comfortable structuring processes, frameworks, and documentation
• Enjoy research, analysis, and translating ideas into practical solutions
• Possess strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Are proactive, curious, and able to work independently in a professional environment

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined by the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology before starting work. Business demands may necessitate ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
