The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is a vibrant institution located at the Amsterdam Science Park. The Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences (SILS) is part of UvA's Faculty of Science, conducting high-quality life science research and offering education across various programs. With around 240 employees, SILS collaborates closely with industries in medical, biotech, chemical, and agricultural fields, focusing on themes like Cell & Systems Biology and Green Life Sciences.
You will be part of an NWO VIDI-funded project led by Dr. André Kuhn, investigating how plant cells rapidly integrate osmotic, salinity, and pathogen-derived signals. Your specific project will focus on B4-RAF protein kinases, which act as intracellular signal integrators activated by various environmental stimuli. These kinases form distinct subcellular puncta, suggesting they assemble into signaling complexes (signalosomes) that coordinate early cellular responses.
