In your role as a Medior Geotechnical Consultant, you will be responsible for advising on construction projects in urban areas, considering groundwater management. You will evaluate whether to use sheet piles, dewatering, or alternative solutions. Your advice will encompass not only geotechnical aspects but also integrate input from all project disciplines.

The Role

You will contribute to a wide variety of civil engineering projects, including tunnels, roads, and bridges, both specialist and multidisciplinary, for infrastructure constructions in the Netherlands and abroad. Your tasks will include:

• Assessing geotechnical calculations such as stability and foundation calculations.
• Guiding and interpreting soil investigations.
• Drafting recommendations based on calculations and soil research.
• Maintaining communication with clients.
• Continuously coordinating with colleagues from other disciplines within the project team.

You will also occasionally visit construction sites to monitor compliance with your recommendations. Your helicopter view will help you maintain oversight and guide junior colleagues in their tasks, making this a versatile role where no two days are the same.

You can work in our Infrastructure department from one of our offices in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Nijmegen, or Delft. Within your department/office location, you will collaborate with around 15 Geotechnical Specialists, a mix of junior colleagues starting their careers and experienced professionals from whom you can learn a lot. We are a close-knit team that also makes time for fun activities, such as an annual barbecue and other events.

Requirements

You feel at home in a team full of specialists where good collaboration is the foundation for successfully realizing complex projects. Your solution-oriented approach ensures that the advice you provide is truly applicable for the client. This position suits you if:

• You have completed a university degree in Civil Engineering, Geo-Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
• You have at least 5 years of experience, preferably with complex infrastructure projects.
• You are experienced with Plaxis and D-Series software.
• You are proficient in both Dutch and English, enabling effective communication and reporting in our international environment.
• You feel actively involved in the growth and professionalization of the team.
• You have the ambition to work on international projects and are open to traveling abroad for shorter or longer periods.
• As a Medior Geotechnical Consultant, you will guide junior colleagues in their tasks, so leadership experience is a plus.
