The Medical Lead Netherlands is a key member of the Netherlands Management Team within the Central European Cluster, representing Takeda in the medical field. This position is responsible for developing and executing the local medical strategy in alignment with global and regional objectives, working closely with the cluster medical team. As the medical strategic lead, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical, Marketing, Access, Digital, and Evidence. You will lead, coach, and performance-manage the local MSL team, ensuring clear objectives and development paths. This role is pivotal for launch readiness and lifecycle management, serving as a medical role model.

Responsibilities:

• Define MSL engagement focus, deployment, and scientific narratives aligned with medical priorities.
• Ensure high-quality, compliant scientific exchange and external engagement by the MSL team.
• Synthesize medical and field insights from MSLs and translate them into actionable strategic input.
• Provide medical leadership for launch readiness and lifecycle management, including indication expansions.
• Build and maintain strong external scientific partnerships with KOLs, HCPs, and scientific societies.
• Represent Medical in advisory boards, congresses, and key scientific forums as appropriate.
• Support and guide evidence generation activities (e.g., Phase IV, RWE, registries).
• Oversee development and delivery of medical education, training, and scientific materials.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory, ethical, and company standards, acting as a medical role model.

Requirements:

• Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, or equivalent; MD is a plus).
• Extensive Medical Affairs experience, including medical strategy and field medical (MSL) leadership.
• Proven people-leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams.
• Strong scientific communication, stakeholder engagement, and insight-generation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory, legal, and ethical framework for medical activities.
• Fluency in the local language and a good command of English.

As a leader, you will manage a medium-sized team of professionals across diverse topics. While you will be actively involved in daily operations when necessary, you will also provide strategic guidance, serve as an advisor and trainer to your team, and make decisions based on the sub-function business plans. Your responsibilities include managing projects, budgets, schedules, and performance standards, as well as engaging with internal and external stakeholders at various management levels and presenting findings at meetings.
