The Role

As a Mechanical Designer, you will take charge of designing mechanical and mechatronic printer units, including precise positioning systems, media transport systems, and structural dynamic systems within R&D product development projects. Collaborating with various disciplines, you will tackle challenges by creating new or improved designs that adhere to product architecture constraints. It's essential to maintain a balance between time, quality, accuracy, interdisciplinary interactions, and cost. You will own the design process from start to finish, working closely with colleagues from different fields. Your ideas will be reviewed, and you will collaboratively develop innovative solutions that align with overall project objectives. Testing and reviewing your designs using various simulation tools will be part of your responsibilities, along with investigating or validating your designs by fitting prototypes into machines and conducting experiments.
