Tulip Tech designs, builds, and assembles battery packs for drones and electric aircraft in Den Bosch. Every pack is developed in-house, focusing on energy density, weight, and runtime performance that off-the-shelf solutions cannot match. Following a partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Defence, we are expanding our focus from technology development into volume manufacturing. We are currently commissioning our first production lines, a phase that combines engineering rigor with the practical demands of scaling a new product into repeatable production.

The Role

This role is responsible for the manufacturing process across multiple production lines and standalone machinery. The work involves setting up, modifying, and improving production equipment, tooling, and fixtures, along with defining, documenting, and standardizing production processes. As the lines are being commissioned and scaled, both the physical setup and accompanying documentation are still being established. The work includes building and implementing these in parallel, while maintaining and improving existing setups.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing and production processes that are repeatable, well-documented, and continuously improved.
• Design and build mechanical and electrical tooling and fixtures to reduce cycle time and process risk.
• Create FMEAs, work instructions, and test plans for every critical process step for floor use.
• Ensure measurable progression from prototype-grade assembly to mature, volume-ready production.
• Provide design feedback to the engineering team (DFA/DFM) to enhance manufacturability before products reach the floor.
• Conduct structured root-cause analysis to improve quality and yield.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manufacturing or production engineering, including building and improving production processes in a real production environment.
• Strong SolidWorks skills for tool, fixture, and jig design.
• Experience designing and building tooling across both mechanical and electrical domains.
• Ability to critically assess processes, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Pragmatic, hands-on approach with a focus on constructive challenges and incremental improvements.
• Structured working style with clear documentation and discipline to keep it current.
• Right to work in the Netherlands. All formal education levels (MBO, HBO, or WO) are welcome; relevant experience and demonstrated capability are prioritized over specific degrees.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methods applied on a production floor.
• Background in battery, EV, drone, automotive, or aerospace hardware.
• Experience in commissioning or establishing a new production line.
• Dutch language skills.
